Teams of two graduating seniors compete to raise the most money for charity in an annual Senior Year Tradition @ SMFHS. The Senior Survivor Week will run from March 23-March 25. During this week, teams must find creative ways to earn donations from students and staff by selling items that will go towards their charity of choice. Senior Survivors participating will arrive @ 7:30AM each day and sell their items throughout the day, when not in a class. After school there will be competitions for the teams to participate in following with the teams spending the night at the school. The team with the highest donation total at the end of the competition will win!
During the week prior to The Dawg Show, teams must find creative ways to raise money and gather donation towards their team's charity. The bulk of your donations will be raised during this time. Each team must raise at least $250 to be eligible to compete in The Dawg Show on May 12. Donation letters, CDC recommendations, and other important information will be provided during the mandatory participant meeting on April 28.
The main event! After a week of raising money for charity, the official Top Dawg competition day (aka THE DAWG SHOW) is on. This day will begin at 8am and run through the evening. We don't want to give too much away, but some competitions include a campus-wide scavenger hunt, blindfolded Mario Kart, trivia, and an obstacle course. Earn points by winning competitions with your team throughout The Dawg Show. The team with the most points at the end of the day will add the Marketplace Bonus to their donation total.
On competition day, the marketplace will open and sell "advantages" for each of the competitions throughout the day. Advantages include items such as clues and hints, extra lives, or a bye-round in a tournament bracket. These advantages can be purchased with cash and all money raised from the marketplace will become part of the Marketplace Bonus. At the end of competition day, the team with the most points will win the MARKETPLACE BONUS and it will be added to their donation total.
